В работе обсуждается сотрудничество Московского общества испытателей природы (МОИП) и Линнеевского общества Лиона (Société linnéenne de Lyon, SLL, Франция), одних из старейших естественно-научных обществ, и некоторые результаты этого сотрудничества, повлиявшие на развитие биологии в 1920–1980-е гг. Связь обществ установлена в 1847 г., когда вице-президент и директор МОИП Г.И. Фишер был избран членом-корреспондентом SLL. Позже членами SLL стали многие российские и советские биологи и научные учреждения. В 1850 г. членом МОИП утвержден президент SLL Э. Мюльсант, и был налажен обмен изданиями между обществами. Благодаря книгообмену регулярно пополнялись фонды библиотек МОИП и SLL, и иностранная литература с результатами научной работы российских и французских ученых стала доступна широкому кругу любителей и специалистов, работающих в разных областях естествознания. К результатам сотрудничества можно отнести взаимное цитирование трудов французскими и российскими биологами в журналах МОИП и SLL, свидетельствующее о проникновении идей. Таких упоминаний не очень много, что может быть связано с региональной спецификой исследований, публиковавшихся в изданиях обществ. Некоторые иностранные работы оказались востребованными спустя значительный интервал времени после их поступления в библиотеку МОИП или SLL. Сотрудничество МОИП и SLL, прежде всего — книгообмен, позволило своевременно информировать иностранных коллег о достижениях науки в России (СССР) и Франции, библиотеки обществ смогли собрать в своих фондах уникальную коллекцию зарубежной научной литературы, которая будет востребована длительное время.

Cooperation between the Moscow Society of Naturalists and the Linnean Society of Lyon

The article discusses the cooperation between the Moscow Society of Naturalists (MOIP) and the Linnean Society of Lyon (Société linnéenne de Lyon, SLL, France), both among the oldest natural science societies, and some results of this cooperation that had influenced the development of biology in the 1920s–1980s. The link between the Societies was established in 1847, when G.I. Fischer (Fischer von Waldheim), the then MOIP Vice President and Director, was elected corresponding member of the SLL. Later on, many Russian and Soviet biologists and scientific institutions became the SLL members. In 1850, SLL President Étienne Mulsant was confirmed as MOIP member and an exchange of publications between the Societies was organised. Through this book exchange, new additions were made to the MOIP and the SLL library stocks and foreign literature that contained information about the findings of the Russian and French scientists became available to a wide range of amateurs and professionals, working in various fields of natural science. The results of this cooperation include mutual citation by French and Russian biologists in the MOIP and the SLL journals, which indicates the penetration of ideas. Such citations are not numerous, which may be explained by the regional specifics of the studies published in the Societies’ periodicals. Some of the foreign works became sought-after much later, a long time after they were received by the MOIP or the SLL library. The cooperation between MOIP and SLL — first and foremost, book exchange — enabled informing their foreign colleagues about scientific achievements in Russia (USSR) and France, respectively, without delay. Moreover, it enabled the Societies’ libraries to assemble the unique collections of foreign scientific literature to be sought-after for a long time.
