Публикуются документы, демонстрирующие реакцию советского партийного руководства на известия об обнаружении на территории СССР заболевших холерой в 1966 г. Представлены письма и записки ответственных лиц, в которых устанавливаются обстоятельства возникновения случаев заражения, а также проведен анализ возможных причин, по которым данные заражения могли произойти. Эти обращения, адресованные в ЦК КПСС, находятся на хранении в Российском государственном архиве новейшей истории. Знакомство с данными документами позволяет воссоздать историю профилактики и борьбы с холерой и другими особо опасными инфекциями в республиках СССР во второй половине 1960-х гг.

Cholera outbreaks in the USSR in the second half of the 1960s: based on documentary materials addressed to the Central Committee of the CPSU

The documents presented here illustrate the response of the Soviet party leadership to the news of the discovery of cholera cases in the USSR in 1966. Letters and notes from responsible individuals are presented, which establish the circumstances of the occurrence of cases of infection, as well as an analysis of potential causes for these infections. These appeals, addressed to the Central Committee of the CPSU, are preserved in the Russian State Archive of Modern History. A familiarity with these documents enables the reconstruction of the history of the prevention and control of cholera and other particularly dangerous infections in the republics of the USSR during the second half of the 1960s.
