The publication is devoted to the memory of the outstanding soil zoologist and scientific organizer Bella R. Striganova. There is her biography in the article. The main directions of her research are analyzed. The contribution of B. Striganova is generalized in the development of soil zoology and the history of biology. She was Academician M.S. Gilyarov’s disciple and continued the development of his scientific program and became the leader of her own scientific school of soil biology. Her numerous disciples are currently working in scientific centers around the world and continue to spread her scientific ideas.
