The paper describes the historic-scientific field trip organized by the St. Petersburg Association of Scientists & Scholars (SPASS) and devoted to the 275-anniversary of the birthday of Peter Simon Pallas (1741-1811). On behalf of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, in 1768-1774, the famous German naturalist conducted extensive travels across various provinces of Russian Empire, from the Baltic Sea to Dauria (Transbaikalia) in the east. In May 2016, the SPASS expedition followed the Pallas’s itinerary in Omsk Province, western Siberia. The scientific team consisted of various zoologists (herpetology, entomology, paleontology), a botanist and science historians. The route of the field trip is outlined, and the main preliminary results are mentioned, with publications devoted to this travel.
