In April 2018, French philosopher and historian of biology Jean Gayon, a member of the editorial board of the journal “Istoriko-biologicheskie issledovaniia”, passed away at the age of 68. The world-renowned expert on Darwinism, the man who formed the links between philosophers and historians of life sciences, he actively collaborated with Russian historians. With some interruptions, he participated in the work of the editorial board since the creation of the magazine in 2009 and was among its first members.
