В статье исследовано влияние Августовской сессии ВАСХНИЛ 1948 г. на агробиологическое направление науки на Дальнем Востоке. Непосредственному рассмотрению предшествует исторический фон, в рамках которого освещён процесс развития сети научных учреждений отраслевого, академического и вузовского профиля, обусловивший структуру научных кадров региона и их восприятие насаждавшегося лысенкоизма. Обоснованы причины, вызвавшие необходимость обращения учёных аграрного сектора отраслевой науки к идеям Т.Д. Лысенко накануне Августовской сессии, избирательное отношение к этим идеям в академическом секторе и игнорирование их — в вузовском. Представлены процессы, связанные с реализацией решений сессии (теоретическое освоение, трансляция, практическое применение) в рамках академической, отраслевой и вузовской науки региона, и специфика их протекания в каждом из секторов науки в регионе, ставшая условием достаточно быстрого преодоления лысенкоизма.

The consequences of the August Session of VASKhNIL (Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences) for agrobiology in the Russian Far East

This paper looks into the impact of the August 1948 VASKhNIL Session on agrobiology in the Russian Far East. The first part of the paper provides an overview of the historical context in which the network of scientific institutions developed, including the organisations within the systems of industry- and sector-related science, fundamental academic science (within the framework of the Academy of Sciences), and university research. This context determined the structure of scientific personnel in the region as well as their perception of Lysenkoism that was being forcibly implanted. The reasons behind the need for the scientists-representatives of the agrarian sector-related science to adopt T.D. Lysenko’s ideas shortly before the August Session, the cautious attitude towards these ideas among the Academy’s scientists, and the university scientists’ disregard of Lysenko’s ideas are substantiated. The paper also describes the processes related to the implementation of the Session’s resolutions (theoretical assimilation, dissemination, and practical implementation) within the framework of fundamental academic science, industry and sector-related science, and university science in the Far East, as well as the distinctive features of these processes in each area of science in this region that determined a fairly rapid overcoming of Lysenkoism.
