Статья посвящена научной биографии гистолога, д.б.н., проф. Ирины Дмитриевны Рихтер, ученицы проф. Антона Витальевича Немилова, одного из первых и самых ярких учеников известного нейрогистолога, чл.-корр. ИСПбАН Александра Станиславовича Догеля. В статье проанализирован вклад И.Д. Рихтер в отечественные исследования в области гистофизиологии и эндокринологии, а также в разработку соответствующих методик и организацию учебного процесса в вузах Петрограда (Ленинграда) и Курска. На основе архивных документов, экспонатов музея Курского государственного медицинского университета (КГМУ) и опубликованных материалов подчёркнута роль проф. Рихтер в развитии научных идей её учителя и вклад учёной в дидактику преподавания гистологии, эмбриологии и цитологии биологам, зоотехникам и врачам. В работе сделан акцент на роли И.Д. Рихтер в восстановлении и развитии кафедры гистологии Курского медицинского института в послевоенные годы. Самоотверженный труд И.Д. Рихтер в годы Великой Отечественной войны в осаждённом Ленинграде был отмечен медалью «За оборону Ленинграда».

In memoriam of Irina Dmitrievna Richter (1895–1972). In commemoration of the 125th anniversary of her birth

Irina Dmitrievna Richter (January 24, 1895–June 9, 1972), a renowned histologist and endocrinologist,
professor and Doctor of Biological Sciences, is known for her studies on histophysiology of
reproductive organs of animals. Her teacher was Prof. A.V. Nemilov, a most prominent histologist
from St. Petersburg (Leningrad) State University. From 1919 to 1931, I.D. Richter worked as assistant
in the Department of Animal Anatomy and Histology at the Stebutov Agricultural Institute (now St.Petersburg
State Agrarian University) and, at the same time, researched animal mammary glands,
testes and ovaries in the Laboratory of Physiological Histology and Endocrinology at the Academy
of Agricultural Sciences. From 1931 to 1936, I.D. Richter worked as assistant in the Department
of Histology at the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute (now the First St. Petersburg State Medical
University). From 1932 to 1945, she worked as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biology of
Leningrad State University (now St. Petersburg State University). During the Great Patriotic War,
I.D. Richter worked in military hospitals in Leningrad and, at the same time, did her best to preserve
materials and equipment of Leningrad State University’s laboratories. In 1942, she was evacuated
from Leningrad that was surrounded by German troops. She took with her the valuable histological
slides made by A.S. Dogel, A.A. Zavarzin, D.I. Deineka, and A.V. Nemilov. She also kept some books.
I.D. Richter brought the slides and books from Leningrad to the Saratov. She was awarded the medal
“For the Defense of Leningrad.” From 1945 to 1956, I.D. Richter was the head of the Department
of Histology in the Kursk State Medical Institute (now the Kursk State Medical University). Profs.
I.D. Richter and Z.S. Katznelson are the authors of three well-known tutorials for practical training
in histology that have also been published in Germany and Latvia.
