Yurii Nikolayevich Vavilov died on April 18, 2018 in Moscow at the age of 90. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, one of the leading specialists in cosmic rays, Yurii Nikolayevich worked all his life at the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute (LPI), whose founder and first director was his uncle, Academician Sergei Ivanovich Vavilov. The author depicts Yurii Nikolayevich Vavilov as the central figure in the field of historical and scientific research, which should be called “vavilovovedenie”, and brings his deepest condolences to all those close to Yurii Nikolayevich.
