В статье рассмотрены модели поведения двух учёных Дальнего Востока в 30-40-е гг. ХХ в. — годы жёсткой идеологизации отечественной науки. Это два известных дендролога Николай Евгеньевич Кабанов и Борис Павлович Колесников. Оба — доктора биологических наук, Борис Павлович с академическим званием член-корреспондента АН СССР, оба — с почётным званием «Заслуженный деятель науки РСФСР». У обоих обширный список публикаций и множество учеников. Оба сформировались как учёные на Дальнем Востоке. Оба покинули его. Статья открывает новые страницы в социальной истории науки. Для раскрытия данной темы привлечены ранее не использованные архивные документы.

This article examines the models of behaviour of two scientists from the Far East in the 1930s/1940s, the years of rigid ideologisation of Soviet science. These scientists were two prominent dendrologists, Nikolai Yevgenyevich Kabanov and Boris Pavlovich Kolesnikov. Both were Doctors of Biological Sciences, Boris Pavlovich holding the academic title of Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and both of them holding the honorary title of “Honoured Scientist of the RSFSR.” Each of them had an extensive list of publications and nu-merous pupils. Both had developed as scientists in the Far East and both left there. The article sheds light on new pages in the social history of science, drawing on previously unused archival documents.
