Предпринята попытка выявить закономерности и рассмотреть ключевые события и перипетии институционализации отраслевой академической науки в СССР и историю организации (1917- 1929) и первых шагов становления (1929-1937) бывшего штаба российской аграрной науки — Всесоюзной академии сельскохозяйственных наук им. В. И. Ленина (ВАСХНИЛ, позже — Российская академия сельскохозяйственных наук), в связи с реорганизацией академической науки в РФ, три месяца не дожившей до своего 85-летия. Определены ключевые фигуры и властные структуры, принявшие деятельное участие в становлении академии. Отмечена преемственность между Бюро Учёного комитета Министерства земледелия императорской России и созданными научно-исследовательскими учреждениями ВАСХНИЛ. Рассмотрена организационная деятельность первых президентов ВАСХНИЛ, их участие в формировании структуры и тематик институтов академии.

The paper reconstructs the organizational history (1917 1929) and formation of the headquarters of the Russian agricultural sciences, namely the I enin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences (nowadays Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences) in connection with the reorganization of Russian academic science (RAS). The Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences was absorbed by the Russian Academy of Sciences three months before it would have celebrated its 85 th anniversary. The paper describes the key players and authorities who played an active role in the establishment of the VASKhNIL. There was a close continuity between the Bureau of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Imperial Russia and the Research Institutes ofthe Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The authors discuss the organizational activities ofthe firsl presidents ofVASKhNILand their participation in formation of the structure and subject matters of academic institutions.
